Nancy Gamon ~ Art & Apparel

Nancy Gamon is an award-winning textile and mixed-media artist living and working near Asheville, North Carolina USA. She experiments with a variety of sewing, painting and collage techniques in her 2D, 3D, and wearable work. Her pieces have appeared in over 40 solo and group exhibits nationwide. Nancy has special interest in the creative reuse of apparel, collaborative works, and personal narrative. She also enjoys dyeing fabric and creating instructional arts and crafts videos.

Since Nancy has not attended art school, she is technically a "self taught" artist. However, she remains very thankful for the creative education she has received throughout life from the many people who have shared their knowledge and offered honest critique.

Nancy's artwork, fashion accessories and home decor items have been featured in newspapers, "Cloth Paper Scissors" magazine, "Altered Couture" magazine, "The Old Farmer's Almanac", the book "1000 Ideas for Creative Reuse," and on a variety of blogs and other online resources.
